  • Event planners assume a lead role in the creative design, planning, and execution of special events – from weddings and conferences, to outdoor festivals, black-tie galas, and rock concerts. Event managers hold key roles supervising décor teams, lighting and audio technicians, and volunteers, as well as responsibilities for budgets and financial management, resource planning, contracts and negotiations, and human resources management. Event planners are also responsible for the delivery of successful and spectacular indoor and outdoor events – large or small.

Hospitality Certificate of Specialization program at CDI College

The Hospitality Certificate of Specialization program at CDI College introduces students to several areas of the hotel and food services industry. Each course is designed to introduce students to different aspects of the hospitality field such as housekeeping management, food and beverage services, hotel security and much more.

The Hospitality Certificate of Specialization – Room Division consists of five hospitality modules. The program does not include a practicum placement, but students are able to upgrade to either the Hospitality Operations diploma or Hospitality Management diploma in order to receive more training.

Each course is designed to introduce students to different aspects of the hospitality field such as housekeeping management, food and beverage services, hotel security and much more.Graduates have found work locally and abroad in restaurants and hotels as managers, supervisors and other key hospitality management positions. Successful graduates will not only receive a Hospitality Management diploma, they’ll also earn an American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) diploma, which is transferable to many colleges and universities. Students also receive certification in BC Foodsafe and Serving It Right.
